Limerick death: Gardai review CCTV
GARDAI in west Limerick are painstakingly going through hundreds of hours of CCTV footage, in their investigation into the death of pensioner Jim Mulqueen at his home in Kilcolman last month.
Over 300 homes have been visited as part of the ongoing investigation into Mr Mulqueen's death with over 600 separate lines of enquiry being followed up by the Garda investigation team, led by Supt Joe Roe, Askeaton. Chief Superintendent Gerry Mahon, who is shortly to retire and Detective Inspector Tom O'Connor, Roxboro are also involved in the probe.
A post-mortem was carried out at the Mid-West Regional Hospital after a neighbour discovered Mr Mulqueen's body in the kitchen of his cottage-home at Ballymakeera, Kilcolman at about 11am on Friday, October 23.
A post-mortem revealed certain marks on Mr Mulqueen's which led the Gardai to treat his death as suspicious.
The detailed postmortem and forensic test results are being awaited by Gardai.
