Limerick's Leanne is into the final four

LEANNE Moore is celebrating today after winning through to the final four of RTE's You're a Star.

The 23-year-old Corbally girl sang the Chrissie Hynde classic "Angel of the Morning" at the Helix in Dublin last night.

And her efforts paid off, as she progressed to the last four and the final showdown of the competition next weekend, despite being the rank outsider to survive.

Indeed, Leanne had to sing for survival when she was placed in the bottom two alongside Pat Fitzgibbon.

Following the sing-off, judges Keith Duffy and Brendan O'Connor opted to save Leanne with Michelle Heaton voting for Cork man Fitzgibbon.

O'Connor's decision to save Leanne represents a massive turnaround for the sharp-tongued judge, who has criticised the singer throughout the show, labelling her "plain", "white bread" and "vanilla".

However, despite admitting to being scared by O'Connor's comments, Leanne has learned to let them go over her head.

The final stages of the competition will now be an all-female affair as Leanne goes head to head with bookies' favourite Robyn Kavanagh from Wicklow, Deirdre Archibold from Cork and Kildare's Sharon Condon.

She is appealing for more votes from people in Limerick, as she goes into next weekend's final, and will be campaigning in the city later on this week.

To vote for her, text STAR 13 to 53125 or call 1513 71 71 13.

The semi-final takes place on Saturday night, at 8.10pm on RTE One, with the final a day later, starting at 6.30pm on the same channel.
