Limerick prisoner Liam Keane allegedly on Bebo behind bars

Liam Keane has reputedly been updating his Bebo page while behind bars in Limerick Prison, after he was remanded in custody this May for possession of a loaded Glock pistol.

Mr Keane, 23, of Singland, Ballysimon, was most recently accused of having the Glock pistol and 13 rounds of 9 millimetre ammunition in suspicious circumstances at Athlunkard Road, Corbally, on May 4, following a high speed chase involving local gardai and members of the Emergency Response Unit.

Now, his Bebo page shows a number of photos reputedly taken while in his prison cell, as well as photos of him holding what appears to be a gun at another property in Limerick. However, his page has now been made private, whereby only friends of his are able to view his.

The introduction to the life of Mr Keane, a nephew of gangland murder victim Kieran Keane, on the social networking site reads: "wel the names liam if you no me leave a comment and share the love....if not get the f*** off my page."

Mr Keane reputedly has 76 friends on the site and his profile has been viewed 673 times. His page also reveals his love of rap music, most notably artists such as Akon, Tupac and 50 Cent, who he says isn't afraid of "noting and no1." One friend of Mr Keane's recently commented on his site: "Any stories from the big house?"

It is believed the images may have been taken on a mobile phone, given the thousands of phones which have been seized by prison authorities in the past year across the country. However, prison authorities were not available this Monday morning to confirm whether Mr Keane has been updating his profile since he was remanded in custody.
