Mark Foley

FORMER Limerick hurling captain Mark Foley has been disqualified from driving for twelve months after he was convicted of charges relating to a hit and run in County Limerick more than a year ago.

Foley, 36, of Abbey View, Adare had pleaded not guilty to an offence under section 106 of the Road Traffic Act - namely failing to provide gardai with information about an accident.

It was the prosecution case that he hit a male pedestrian around two miles outside Newcastle West on October 16, 2010 and that he failed to report the accident to gardai.

Judge Mary O’Halloran was told at Newcastle West Court that Foley admitted to gardai that he hit the Lithuanian man while driving his Mercedes car but that he stopped 50 metres away, returned and took the injured man the Mid Western Regional Hospital.

After convicting Foley of the charge, Judge O’Halloran fined him €350 and she disqualified him from driving for a year.

Leave to appeal was granted

Dyanisis, having had the misfortune to read your ignorant, hatefilled, imbecilic ramblings on these pages over the last few months one can only assume that your wild incoherence is due to either a. medication that hasn't been taken or b. imbibing too much of the hard stuff? Either way, there are people who can help you.
