CAFE CREME CRASH SCENE The crash scene on O'Connell Street

EARLY morning shoppers had a shock this Thursday when a car ran out of control, stopping just short of the entrance to an O’Connell Street cafe.

Two units of the fire brigade, and two units of Limerick’s ambulance service attended the scene of the incident, outside Cafe Creme on the O’Connell Street-Cecil Street junction.

A 2000-registered blue Hyundai Atoz was damaged in the crash, but the lone female passenger escaped unharmed. She was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

The section of O’Connell Street-Cecil Street was closed for a short period afterwards, but has now reopened.
