GARDAI are appealing for information after a youth was threatened at knife-point and robbed while walking in the city centre.

The incident happened just after 5pm on Monday as the 18-year-old was walking on Parnell Street to Colbert Station.

The youth was accosted at knifepoint and was forced to hand over a quantity of cash to the culprits.

The matter is being investigated by gardai at Roxboro Road who are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

“If you were in a shop, walking on the street or otherwise driving in the area at the time did you notice anything suspicious? Perhaps you witnessed the robbery or can identify the culprit please contact Roxboro Road,” said Sgt Justin McCarthy.
