A WOMAN managed to walk away virtually unscathed after a dramatic car accident in the city yesterday.

Three units of Limerick Fire Brigade were called to the scene at 12.48pm, after the car plummeted through the railings and down into the basement of a property adjacent to Pery Square.

The woman, believed to be in her 50s, was the sole occupant and managed to make her way out of the vehicle before the emergency services arrived.

She was treated for minor injuries at University Hospital Limerick
