St Camillus' Hospital: visiting restrictions are in place

THE HSE has announced that visiting restrictions are in place at St Camillus’ Hospital in Limerick due to an outbreak of influenza.

The restrictions have been put in place due to two confirmed cases of Influenza Type A.

Strict infection control precautions are in place throughout the hospital. As a result of the outbreak, admissions to continuing care and respite have been cancelled until further notice.

The Rehabilitation Unit remains open and is accepting admissions and day hospital services have not been affected.

“A multidisciplinary team from the Mid West is assisting the hospital staff in managing the situation,” said a spokesperson.

“The public are requested to co-operate fully with these necessary arrangements. Families of residents and patients can obtain further clarity on the restrictions by contacting nurse management at the hospital.”
