Roads are closed across Limerick this Wednesday due to storm conditions - below, a tree down on the N21 between Newcastle West and Rathkeale as sent in by Twitter user Darragh Goggin

 

THE CAPPAMORE to Pallasgreen road has reopened following an overnight car crash in East Limerick.

Two male teenagers were rushed by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick shortly after 2.30am. The single vehicle accident occurred at Garranemore, Pallasgreen - just outside the village.

Fire brigade in Cappamore received the call at 2.35am and were at the scene within minutes

The passenger, a 16-year-old boy, is understood to have received “serious injuries”. While the driver’s injuries are said to be not serious. It is understood that the two are not from the locality but had moved to East Limerick in recent times.

The Cappamore to Pallasgreen road remained closed for garda forensic collision investigators to carry out an investigation until around 9am. It has since reopened to traffic.
