Three quizzed over Kilkee cannabis seizures

THREE people are being questioned by gardai in County Clare following separate seizures of cannabis plants in Kilkee.

Around 200 cannabis plants were discovered by gardaí targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the seaside town when they searched a house at Lislanahan, Kilkee at around 10am.

A man and a woman, both aged 23, were arrested and are being detained at Kilrush garda station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. The cannabis plants discovered at the house have a street value of around €160,000.

In a second operation, gardaí searched a property at Tullaroe, Kilkee, where approximately 300 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €280,000 were discovered.

A man, aged in his 50s, was arrested and is currently being detained at Ennis Garda station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
