THREE men have appeared at Limerick District Court charged with begging in an “intimidating” manner in the city centre before Christmas.

All three are Romanian, are related and share the same address in Cork city.

Florin Munteanu, 25, of Mill Road, Mill Street, is charged with harassing, intimidating or obstructing persons while begging outside the Bank of Ireland, O’Connell Street, on December 22 last.

Rupi Munteanu, 21, and Pitulan Munteanu, 34, are charged with the same offence at the same location on the same date.

Solicitor Darrach McCarthy sought a one-month adjournment and the three were remanded on bail to appear again on February 4.
