Special Olympics Torch arrives in Limerick

The Special Olympics Torch has arrived in County Limerick ahead of the Ireland games which get underway in Limerick tomorrow.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run will see members of An Garda Siochana and the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), being the torch to a number of towns and villages ahead of the opening ceremony at the People’s Park.

The Special Olympics Torch visited Killaloe and Ballina national schools this morning before travelling to Newcastle West. It will travel to Charleville this afternoon before arriving in the city this evening.

There will be a number of events in Limerick city, Patrickswell and Ennis tommorrow.

More than 1,500 athletes from across the country will take part in the Special Olympics Ireland games which continue until Sunday afternoon.
