Search underway for missing Limerick woman

The search and rescue units were dispatched after the alarm was raised shortly after 6pm on Saturday evening last, when the victim failed to surface from the water near Roches Point in Cork

 

A major search operation is underway in the Pallaskenry area for a young woman who has not been seen since the weekend.

The woman, who is aged in her early 20s, was last seen on Saturday afternoon and her family are reported to be very concerned for her safety.

The woman is from the Pallaskenry area and works in Limerick city.

Search teams from Ballybunion sea and cliff rescue, Limerick Marine search and rescue, Foynes search and rescue, Kilkee search and rescue as well as gardai began land and sea searches for the woman this morning.

Rescue 115 - the Shannon-based Coastguard helicopter - is also providing assistance as are local volunteers and members of the woman’s family.
