A MAN is to face trial before a jury at Limerick Circuit Court in connection with a Garda investigation into alleged embezzlement at a Dooradoyle pub.

Kieran O’Halloran is charged with 15 counts of theft from Russell’s Bar at the Racefield Centre, Fr Rusell Road, on dates between September 2008 and April 2009. The charges relate to over €37,000 it is alleged were taken.

At Limerick District Court, Garda Annie Morrissey of Henry Street garda station served the book on the accused.

Sgt Donal Cronin told Judge Eugene O’Kelly that the DPP had consented to have Mr O’Halloran sent forward for trial at the next sessions of Limerick Circuit Criminal Court.

Mr O’Halloran, 42, of Keelgrove, Ardnacrusha, was assigned solicitor Turlough Herbert plus one counsel to represent him.

Judge Eugene O’Kelly issued the alibi warning to the accused before remanding him on bail to appear before the next sessions of the Circuit Court.
