INVESTIGATIONS are continuing after a young girl from County Limerick was killed in a road crash.
The eight-year-old died in an horrific head-on collision near Clonakility in West Cork at around 3pm yesterday. Her mother, who was a passenger in the car remains in a serious condition at Cork University Hospital.
It is understood both are from the Abbeyfeale area and had been holidaying with friends in West Cork.
A number of other occupants of the car sustained minor injuries as did the teenage driver of the second vehicle.
Gardai at Clonakility are investigating the circumstances of the crash, which happened on a stretch of road where there have a number of other serious crashes in recent years.
