A DAY - and night - of music, food and family fun in aid of the people of Gaza is being organised for later this month.

Limerick women Jacqui O’Malley and Paula Meehan are behind the Red Cross Gaza Appeal to help supply medical aid.

It all takes place at The Orchard Bar in the Granary, Bank Place, on Saturday, September 13, starting at 2pm with the double decker Kids Play Bus decked out for kids.

From 7pm there will be live music by Parliament Square, featuring Brendan Markham, former frontman of The Driven.

A barbecue starts sizzling at 8.30pm followed by more live blues and Americana from Mrs Henry

Tickets for the evening (€10) include entry into a draw for prizes such as tickets to Ireland against Australia in the Aviva Stadium in November; a castle break for two in Dromoland; a Clare Hartigan painting; and tickets to the upcoming Limerick gigs of comedian Des Bishop and Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott of the Beautiful South fame.

Tickets are available from O’Dwyer’s Bar, Wolfe Tone Street; The Orchard (after 7pm) or inquire with Jacqui at 085 1614224 or email info@limerickfundraiser.com
