Gardai are investigating an aggravated burglary at Beaskabeg, Clarina

 

GARDAI are appealing for information after a man was attacked at his home on the outskirts of the city,

The incident happened at around 10pm on Saturday after the man, who aged in his 40s, was confronted by two masked men when he answered his front door.

“In this case, the owner of the house answered the front door when he was confronted by two masked men. He was then removed by force to a bedroom of the house where he was assaulted and his phone taken,” said a garda spokesman.

During the assault the injured party was struck over the head and an effort was made to place an electric cable around his neck.

Following the incident, the culprits left the house at Beaskabeg, Clarina, Patrickswell and escaped in a dark coloured car, possibly a Volskwagen Passat.

The culprits, who wore dark clothing were approximately 5’9” in height. It is believed one of them was of heavy build, balding and aged about 30 years.
