A CHINESE restaurant was “extensively damaged” in an act of vandalism in the village of Croom on Wednesday night.

A CHINESE restaurant was “extensively damaged” in an act of vandalism in the village of Croom on Wednesday night.

According to gardai a number of individuals gained access to the premises - known locally as the Poets’ Corner - and caused extensive damage.

“They gained access through the back, caused damage to the kitchen and threw chairs around the premises and out the front windows,” said a garda source.

“We are following a definite line of enquiry,” he added.
