A MAN was hospitalised after he was rescued from the River Shannon in the early hours of this morning.

A MAN was hospitalised after he was rescued from the River Shannon in the early hours of this morning.

The man, who is aged in his forties, was seen entering the water near Harvey’s Quay at around 4.30am.

Emergency services responded and the man was pulled from the water a short time late by members of the Limerick city fire and rescue service.

The man was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital afterwards but his condition is understood not to be life threatening.
