A LIMERICK student who was brutally assaulted in the city last week is now in a stable condition in hospital.

However, sources have told the Limerick Leader that while his life is no longer in danger, he has suffered devastating injuries. The victim - 22 year-old Patrick Moss from Ardfinnan, county Tipperary - was viciously assaulted after leaving a nightclub in the city.

He was found with serious injuries on Bank Place shortly after 2.30am on Friday last.

His parents have been keeping a vigil at his bedside after he was hospitalised in a critical condition.

Over the weekend, hundreds of messages saying ‘Get well soon’ flooded in for him on his personal Facebook page.

It is believed he may have been attacked due to a row with another individual, which occurred some years ago. Gardai

at Henry Street station said their investigations are ongoing.

A 22-year-old man, who was being questioned in connection with the incident, has been released without charge and a file is to be sent to the DPP.
