A POLISH national charged in connection with a significant drugs seizure near Athlacca last week was further remanded in custody this Tuesday.

Dozens of cannabis plants with an estimated street value of around €115,000 were recovered when gardai searched a house at Creanville, Athlacca as part of an intelligence-led operation.

Marian Andrzejak, aged 24, did not apply for bail during the brief hearing in Limerick District Court.

Sergeant Donal Cronin said he didn’t have DPP directions and asked for the case to be adjourned until July 28 for DPP directions.

“It is a sizable investigative file,” said Sgt Cronin.

Mr Andrzejak’s solicitor, John Herbert, asked for an interpreter, who was present on Tuesday, to also attend the court sitting on the next date.

“He has no English. Until he gets some English he needs an interpreter,” said Mr Herbert.

The case was put back until Tuesday, July 28 in Limerick District Court.
