A FATHER-of-three who was viciously assaulted at Lord Edward Street ten days ago is out of intensive care.

Patrick Byrnes Jnr (34), from Patrickswell was struck across the head with an implement after he was attacked at around 3.15pm on May 21, last.

He is being treated for serious head injuries at Cork University Hospital (CUH) where his condition is said to have improved slightly.

Meanwhile, Supt Dan Keane of Roxboro garda station is renewing his appeal for information on the location of a light green 10KY-registered Toyota Avensis car which was seen in the area around the time of the attack.

“We have not managed to locate that car yet, it is essential to our enquiries,” he said.

Three people have been arrested and questioned about the incident and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
