EILEEN Kelly from Abbeyfeale collected a cheque for €50,000 yesterday evening after she won the Snowball prize on the National Lottery’s TellyBingo gameshow.

Eileen, who works as a home-help, is married to Joe and the couple have two children - Eleanor and DP.

Speaking at National Lottery headquarters after collecting her prize, Eileen revealed she bought her winning ticket in Supervalu, Bridge Street, Abbeyfeale last Thursday, January 17 and played TellyBingo the following day.

She was the first person on the day to match up all the numbers on her ticket to win the Snowball prize of €50,000.

“I love to play bingo and have always enjoyed playing the TellyBingo game but I never really thought that I’d win the big prize. I’ve already decided how I’ll spend my winnings – I plan to pay off the mortgage and if there’s any left over, perhaps I’ll take a little holiday,” she said.

TellyBingo gives players the chance to play Bingo in their own home.

The TellyBingo TV Gameshow is broadcast on RTE One every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and tickets, which cost €2.50, are available from all National Lottery agents.
