Gardai are asking festival revellers to behave themselves in Kilfinane this weekend so that everyone can enjoy themselves.

Headlining tonight, Friday, June 29 at the Rocky Mayhem festival are Royseven - this year’s Meteor Music award winners - Ham Sandwich and Bipolar Empire. Doors open from 7pm.

Fans don’t have to worry about the weather as the bands are playing in a marquee. Huge crowds are expected this Friday night and Bruff gardai are asking all revellers to “behave responsibly so that everyone can enjoy themselves.

“The festival went ahead last year without incident and we’re hoping it will be likewise this year. Resources from Bruff garda station will be deployed for the duration of the weekend,” said Garda John Finnerty.

There is also a disco night on Saturday; family fun day followed by local pub rock bands Handipak, Footloose and Menace perform on Sunday night. Mountain bike races take place as well.

Committee member, Maura Flynn, said: “We are lucky to live in the best place in the world, the Limerick and Cork border area is uniquely special. The festival may be in Kilfinane but it’s for the entire area and beyond to enjoy.”
