INVESTIGATIONS are underway following separate house fires on the southside of Limerick city.

INVESTIGATIONS are underway following separate house fires on the southside of Limerick city.

Two units of the Limerick city fire service attended a fire at Clarina Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston at around 8.10 last night.

A second fire was reported at nearby Crecora Aveneue at 8.50pm and again two units of the fire service were dispatched from Limerick fire station on Mulgrave Street.

Both fires, which broke out at derelict houses, were brought under control quickly and there were no reports of any injuries. The two houses were severely damaged.

It is suspected that the fires were started malicioulsy.
