A TEENAGER who was a back seat passenger in a car crash on Saturday night at the Cross of Grange on the N24 has died.

A TEENAGER who was a back seat passenger in a car crash on Saturday night at the Cross of Grange on the N24 has died.

The 17 year-old died at the Mid Western Regional Hospital last night. The car crash involving two cars happened shortly before 9pm on Saturday night at the turn-off for Doon and Cappamore.

There were three other occupants in the vehicle but none of them were serioulsy injured. The occupants of the second car, including two children, were hospitalised after the car accident but were discharged shortly afterwards.

The 17 year-old was rushed to the Mid Western Regional Hospital where he has been surrounded by friends and family in the intensive care unit. He passed away on Tuesday evening.

Gardai at Roxboro Road are investigating the crash and are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the crash to contact them on (061)-214340.

The teenager is the third person to die on Limerick roads this year.
