INVESTIGATIONS are underway after a woman died in a single vehicle accident near Hospital, County Limerick.
The accident occurred on the on the outskirts of the village shortly before 9.30 this morning.
The woman, who is believed to be from the Hospital area, was the driver of the vehicle, which left the road and hit a tree.
A young man, who was a passenger in the car, was not seriously injured.
The main road between Hospital and Herbertstown has been sealed off to facilitate a technical examination of the scene.
It is understood that road conditions in the area were icy at the time of the accident.
Gardai at Bruff are investigating the crash.
