A WOMAN is offering a substantial reward for information which leads to the return of a high-end camera which was stolen from her apartment in the city.

The Canon EOS 600D camera was stolen during a burglary, which happened in broad daylight in the O’Connell Avenue area on the afternoon of Friday, November 20.

The culprits gained access to the apartment by breaking a rear window. A number of items of jewellery and a man’s watch were also taken.

The victim, who works as a professional in the city, is distraught as the camera, which was bought as a birthday present last year, was one of her most treasured and valuable belongings.

“Apart from seeing your bedroom ransacked, and living with the insecurity that a break-in causes, there is also the added insult and injury of having an item stolen that you have saved hard for. It was an investment piece that I hoped I wouldn’t have to purchase again for many years. I would be thrilled if it was somehow returned to me,” she said.

Gardai attached to Roxboro Road station are investigating the break-in which occurred sometime between 10am and 3pm.

Anyone with information can call 086-0266438 or contact the gardai on 061-214340.
