AN investigation has been launched after a man sustained serious injuries in a workplace accident in County Limerick this Tuesday morning.

AN investigation has been launched after a man sustained serious injuries in a workplace accident in County Limerick this Tuesday morning.

It is understood the man fell from scaffolding while working on the site of the new primary school in Kilmallock at approximately 10am.

“His life is not in danger but he did sustain serious injuries,” said a garda source.

According to gardai, the air ambulance attended the scene of the accident on Glenfield Road and the man was airlifted to hospital.

The Health and Safety Authority have been notified.
