DRUGS worth more than €80,000 and €13,000 in cash have been seized as part of a garda operation targeting organised criminal gangs in the city.

DRUGS worth more than €80,000 and €13,000 in cash have been seized as part of a garda operation targeting organised criminal gangs in the city.

As part of Operation Thor, 12 seperate locations were searched yesterday.

Gardai attached to the Limerick Divisional Drugs Squad, Detective and Crime Units, Divisional Traffic Corps, Regional Support Unit and other local units searched rgw locations.

Drugs, such as cannabis, cocaine and benzodiazepine, with a combined street value of more than €80,000, as well as €13,000 in cash were seized during the searches of the locations, including houses, derelict houses and waste lands.

Gardaí also recovered a number of shotgun cartridges at one of the locations, though no arrests were made.
