GARDAI investigating organised crime in the Limerick area have arrested five people during a series of coordinated searches.
As part of Operation Fiacla, gardai from Henry Street garda station assisted by gardai from the Tipperary and Clare divisions carried out searches at a number of premises earlier today.
The searches were carried out at locations in Limerick and Tipperary.
Four men ranging in ages from 19 to 27 were arrested along with a 17-year-old girl during the operation, which lasted for several hours.
The five are being detained under the provisions of Section 50 of Criminal Justice Act 2007 at Nenagh, Roxboro Road, Henry Street, Newcastle West and Shannon garda stations.
They can be held without charge for a maximum of seven days.
