A TEENAGE girl from Limerick city who had not been seen for more than a week has been located safe and well in County Limerick.
Fifteen-year-old Eileen Delaney who is originally from the city centre had last been seen in the Clare Street area of the city on the afternoon of November 17.
While the teenager was reported missing last week, gardai only decided to issue a public appeal for information this morning after their efforts to locate her proved fruitless.
It is believed Ms Delaney may have been in the company of a young male following her disappearance.
Because of Eileen’s age, the authorities sought permission from the High Court prior to issuing her photograph to media outlets.
As a result of the appeal, which was published on limerickleader.ie, gardai receive a tip-off from a member of the public and Eileen was located safe and well in the Rathkeale area of County Limerick shortly after 5pm today.
“I just want to thank the members of their public for their assistance in the matter. This young lady was located in the Rathkeale area and she is now in the custody of the gardai and she is safe and well,” said Supt Dan Keane of Henry Street garda station.
