MORE than 30kgs of cannabis herb has been seized during an operation involving gardai from Limerick and Clare.

MORE than 30kgs of cannabis herb has been seized during an operation involving gardai from Limerick and Clare.

As part of an ongoing investigations into the illegal sale and supply of controlled substances in both counties a house was searched in Querrin, Kilkee, County Clare this afternoon.

During the search, gardai discovered 34 kilos of cannabis herb with an estimated value of €680,000, pending analysis.

A 24-year-old man was arrested and is currently detained at Kilrush Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.

“These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks,” said a spokesperson for the Garda Press Office.
