Relic of Saint John Bosco to visit Limerick

Preparations are continuing ahead of the arrival of the Relic of Saint John Bosco in Limerick next week.

A casket containing partial remains of the Saint - within a wax replica of his body - has been on a world tour for the past four years to celebrate the bi-centenary of his birth in 1815.

Saint John Bosco is the 19th century founder of the Salesian Order.

His relic will be in Limerick between February 27 and March 7 and will visit Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Milford; Holy Family Parish Church, Southill, the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, Fernbank and Salesian College, Pallaskenry, where the Salesians first established a base in Ireland.
