A MAN questioned by gardai in connection with an alleged rape in the city centre last month has been released from custody with a file being prepared for the DPP.

A woman in her 30s made a complaint to gardai that she had been raped in a city centre apartment in the early hours of Sunday, November 25.

It is believed she had met the male in a Limerick pub the night before.

A male in his 40s was arrested on Friday last under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act on foot of the woman’s complaint.

He was released without charge on Friday night.
