FORMER mayor of Limerick Diarmuid Scully looks set to concede defeat in City East.
Writing on Facebook, the Singland-based Fine Gael councillor said, with 49 of the 50 tally boxes open in City East, that “it doesn’t look like I’ll make it”.
He thanked everyone who helped him out on his campaign, and those who sent their best wishes.
“A good day for Sinn Fein, Fianna Fail and the Anti-Austerity Allliance, better than expected. Poor performance from Fine Gael though,” he opined.
Another Fine Gael candidate who has conceded defeat is Moyross activist Tina O’Gorman, running in City North.
On Facebook, she wrote: “Well, the race is over for me. I did not get in, but our friend, Frankie Daly is certain of his seat”.
