Limerick motorists urged to be careful

AA Roadwatch is urging motorists to drive with care as some roads in Limerick remain impassable due to last night’s heavy rainfall.

A number of units of the Limerick city fire and rescue service were deployed at Greenfields Road, Rosbrien this morning after a car became stuck in flood waters.

Other vehicles were forced to turn back as the road was impassable for several hours.

While, there have been no reports of vehicles being stranded elsewhere in County Limerick, gardai say motorists should be vigilant due to the presence of surface water in many areas.

According to Met Eireann,it will be “wet and rather windy” again for a period this evening with some “moderate westerly winds”.
