INVESTIGATIONS are continuing after a man died in a road accident on the outskirts of Limerick city

The pedestrian - who was aged in his late 60s - died after he was knocked down near the Mid Western Hospital in Dooradoyle at around 8pm yesterday.

A section of the main road was sealed off for several hours after the accident but it reopened in the early hours of this morning.

Gardai at Roxboro Road station are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
