TWO men and two women are being questioned by gardai following the discovery of a viable pipe-bomb at a flat in Limerick city centre.
The improvised device was discovered shortly before 9am during a planned garda operation at a premises on Cecil Street.
The building was evacuated following the discovery and the surrounding area was sealed off for several hours afterwards.
Members of the Defence Forces Explosives Ordinance Disposal team made the device safe shortly before midday before removing it for further examinations.
Four men who were arrested following the discovery are being questioned under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
