Woman charged in connection with Limerick stabbing

A WOMAN is due to appear in court next month after she was charged in connection with a stabbing incident in Limerick city on Tuesday afternoon.

A WOMAN is due to appear in court next month after she was charged in connection with a stabbing incident in Limerick city on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened in the Mulgrave Street area shortly after midday.

The victim, who is aged in his 20s, was treated atthe Mid Western Regional Hospital after he was stabbed in the chest with a knife.

Altough serious, his injuries are not life threatening and he was discharged from hospital late on Tuesday night.

A woman, who is aged in her 30s, was arrested a short time after the incident and she was detained at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

She was subsequently charged with assault causing harm and with posession of a knife.

She was released on bail and is due to appear before Limerick Court on December 13, next.
