A FURTHER four arrests have been made in connection with the murders of Shane Geoghegan, Roy Collins and James Cronin.

Two men and two women were arrested in the city this Thursday morning in relation to the ongoing investigations. They are being held at Roxboro Road, Henry Street and Mayorstone Garda Stations.

Those arrested are all in their 20’s and are being detained under sections 30, 42 and 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Meanwhile, the five men arrested early on Wednesday morning - also in connection with the murders - were released without charge late this Wednesday night. A file is to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Detectives from the Limerick division, assisted by members of the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, made the arrests in the Midlands and Dublin areas on Wednesday morning.

Shane Geoghegan was shot dead in Dooradoyle in November 2008; Roy Collins was shot dead at the Roxboro Shopping Centre in April 2009 and the body of James Cronin, who was also shot, was discovered in a shallow grave at Caledonian Park in April 2008.
