AS it celebrates its 50th anniversary, Junior Chamber Limerick is bidding to attract new members with a special recruitment evening this month.

The group, which exists to support young entrepreneurs and business leaders of the future, is to host a new members night at Pery’s Hotel in Glentworth Street on Wednesday, September 28, where renowned economist and Kemmy Business School lecturer Dr Stephen Kinsella will address the audience.

Other events include a black tie dinner to take place on Saturday, September 24 in the Absolute Hotel.

In order to celebrate their past, the current committee of Junior Chamber Limerick has embarked on numerous other projects throughout the year, including hosting President’s Day at the Bishop’s Palace.

They have attempted to get in touch with as many past Presidents, Senators and ex-members of the branch as they can.

James O’Donoghue, president of Junior Chamber Limerick, said that Dr Kinsella will be giving a talk entitled ‘New World and Built Class—Limerick in 2050’, based on the book he published in 2009, entitled ‘Ireland in 2050’.
