Two brothers who are charged with threatening to kill several members of the same family were remanded in custody when they appeared before the Special Criminal Court in Dublin.

Wayne Dundon, 33, of Lenihan Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, is charged with threatening to kill a man at an address on Hyde Road on September 30 last year, and with threatening to kill another man at an address on Hyde Avenue on the same date.

He is also accused of threatening to kill a woman and her two children at Hyde Road on March 25 last. The father-of-three is also charged with two counts of intimidating potential witnesses at Hyde Road, on September 30, 2010.

John Dundon, 29, of Hyde Avenue, is charged with threatening to kill two women, a mother and daughter, at an address on Hyde Road on April 3 and 4 last. The alleged injured parties in the case cannot be identified in the media on foot of a previous court order.

During Wednesday’s court hearing each of brothers applied for free legal aid.

However the three-judge-court said it would not make a decision until a proper statement of means is filed with the court. Previously Limerick District Court was told that Wayne Dundon earns around €170 per week from selling horses.

His brother has no income.
