A PLANNING application has been lodged to expand the Amber Service Station in Askeaton.
According to the plans which have been submitted to Limerick County Council, the development will consist of the demolition of the current retail unit, storage building and forecourt canopy.
The current underground fuel storage tanks will be decommissioned and replaced with a new underground tank farm.
The developers, Clonreask Supermarkets Ltd, want to replace the existing retail unit with a new outlet, measuring some 100 square metres.
Meanwhile, there will be four fuel bays, with eight fuel taps.
It is not yet clear when Limerick County Council will make a decision on the proposal.
