Limerick man remains in a serious condition after Friday road crash

A 20-YEAR-OLD man remains in a serious condition in hospital after he was knocked down by a van on the Limerick to Newport road in the early hours of Friday.

A 20-YEAR-OLD man remains in a serious condition in hospital after he was knocked down by a van on the Limerick to Newport road in the early hours of Friday.

The young man from the Lisnagry area was hit by a van near the rail crossing on the bypass, at 4.30am on Friday morning.

He has undergone surgery, but is still in a serious condition in Dooradoyle.

The road was closed for a technical examination a short while after, but has since reopened.

Gardai have also spoken to the driver of the van, from Shannon Banks.
