There are severe traffic disruptions across the city due to the closure of parts of the M7 motorway following a road accident this morning.
It is understood that a pedestrian in his 60s was seriously injured after he was hit by a van on a slip road near junction 29 - the Rosbrien Interchange.
The incident occurred shortly before 11am on the northbound carriageway of the motorway.
According to AA Roadwatch, there is no access onto the motorway at J27, J28 or J29 with diversions in place.
Traffic from Ennis is being diverted onto the Dock Road while traffic from Cork and Kerry is being diverted through the city.
