A DUST explosion at O’Connor’s Feed on the Ballysimon Road caused damage but no injuries.

An investigation is underway into the cause of the explosion, which happened shortly before 9pm this Thursday night.

Four fire brigade units from Limerick city and one from Cappamore were called to the scene at 8.46pm following a loud explosion. They remained at the scene until shortly before 3am.

A spokesperson for the company said there was a small dust explosion, which caused some of the side panelling to be blown out.

He said there was a small amount of damage caused but nobody was injured.

Dan O’Connor Feeds was established in 1848 in Limerick and moved to its present site on the Ballysimon Road in 1972 and has been continuously upgraded ever since. They provide a full range of animal feeds.
