Man injured following stabbing incident in Limerick city

Limerick Fire Service was alerted to a fire at Mary Street at around 1.50am and crews found a man lying unconscious outside the house when they arrived at the scene. He had suffered multiple stab wounds.

The injured party, who is aged in his 20s, was treated at the scene and taken to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital where his condition this Friday morning was described as “serious but stable”.

Fire crews quickly brought the blaze under control and the area has been sealed off for a technical examination by gardai.

Officers at Mayorstone Garda Station are investigating this incident and anybody who witnessed what happened or has information is asked to contact the gardai on 061 456980.
