SIX horses were seized in the Moyross area of the city during the latest operation targeting the illegal keeping of horoses within the city boundary.
The horses, none of which were licenced, were seized during a pre-planned operation which was co-ordinated by Limerick City Council and local gardai.
According to the local authority, the animals were recovered in Delmege Park, Craeval Park and at Monabraher Road during the early hours of yesterday morning.
Afterwards they were taken to a compound in County Cork.
So far this year more than 200 illegal horses have been seized across Limerick city.
