A JURY has found Southill man Anthony Kelly not guilty of firearms charges following a four-week trial.

Kelly, 51, of 121 O’Malley Park, Southill had denied posession of a semi-automatic glock pistol with intent to endanger life at his home on October 28, 2009.

It was the prosecution case that Kelly shot 29-year-old Michael Lynch ‘in the back’ following a row outside his home shortly after 7am.

The jury of seven men and five women returned with its unanimous verdict shortly after 3pm today.

Speaking outside the court afterwards, Kelly said he was “happy and relieved” at the verdict.
